Full-Back / Wing-Back🇦🇷 Argentine·Roma·b. 1998

Nahuel Molina

An energetic, attack-minded right-back who arrives in the box like a winger — now back in Serie A as a wing-back at Roma.

Playing Style Summary

Molina is a high-energy right-back with a forward's instincts — he likes to push on, attack space behind the opposing full-back and arrive in the box. He came through Boca Juniors' academy, broke out at Udinese as a wing-back (seven league goals in 2021-22) and then spent four seasons at Atlético Madrid. He scored Argentina's opening goal in the 2022 World Cup quarter-final against the Netherlands and started the final. In August 2026 he joined Roma, returning to Serie A and to a wing-back role.

Defining Traits

Box Arrival

Molina times runs from deep into the penalty area, especially when play is on the left — a habit learned as a wing-back at Udinese.

Running Power

He has the stamina to cover the whole right flank repeatedly, attacking and recovering across the full 90 minutes.

Attacking Space in Behind

He looks for the run past the opposing full-back rather than waiting for the ball to feet, stretching the defence vertically.

Wide Combinations

Plays quick one-twos with the wide forward or interior midfielder to get to the byline or cut the ball back.

Strengths

  • Energy and endurance to play the whole right flank
  • Well-timed runs into the box and a goal threat for a defender
  • Comfortable as a wing-back in a back three or as a full-back in a back four
  • Quick combination play in wide areas

Limitations

  • Can be caught out of position in transition after pushing high
  • Defensive concentration and one-v-one defending are less consistent than his attacking work
  • Final ball and crossing can be inconsistent
