Left-Back🇲🇦 Moroccan·Panathinaikos·b. 2002

Anass Salah-Eddine

An attack-minded left-back or wing-back from the Ajax school — overlapping runs, left-foot delivery and the technique to combine on the flank.

Playing Style Summary

Salah-Eddine is a left-footed, attack-minded full-back who can play as a left-back in a back four or as a wing-back. A product of Ajax's academy, he developed at Twente before moving to Roma in February 2025; after limited minutes in Rome he spent 2025-26 on loan at PSV, winning the Eredivisie. In September 2026 he joined Panathinaikos on a season-long loan from Roma. Born in Amsterdam and a European U-17 champion with the Netherlands, he switched to Morocco in 2025, won the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and played in the 2026 World Cup.

Defining Traits

Overlapping Threat

He loves to get beyond the winger, overlapping at speed to receive in the crossing zone and create two-v-one situations on the left.

Left-Foot Delivery

Crosses early and from the byline, aiming for runners at the near post and cut-backs to the penalty spot.

Ajax-School Technique

Comfortable in tight wide areas, he combines with one-twos and quick passes rather than relying purely on running power.

Wing-Back Versatility

Equally at home as a left-back in a four or a wing-back in a five, adjusting his height and width to the system.

Strengths

  • Overlapping runs and attacking width from left-back
  • Quality of left-footed crossing and cut-backs
  • Technical security in combinations on the flank
  • Tactical flexibility between full-back and wing-back roles
  • Experience of title-winning environments with PSV and Morocco

Limitations

  • Defensive positioning can be exposed in transition when he has pushed high
  • Discipline — he collected a red card and several bookings during his PSV loan season
  • Has yet to establish himself as a long-term starter at one club in a top league
