Leandro Trossard
A technical, intelligent forward who can play anywhere across the front line — clever movement, clean technique and a knack for decisive goals.
Playing Style Summary
Trossard is a versatile, technical attacker who has played on the left wing, as a second striker and as a false nine. Developed at Genk, he became one of the Premier League's most effective forwards at Brighton before joining Arsenal in January 2023. In 2025-26 he scored the only goal of a 1-0 win at West Ham that proved crucial in Arsenal's first league title for 22 years. In July 2026 he joined Beşiktaş for an initial £15.3m, after scoring twice in Belgium's 5-1 World Cup win over New Zealand.
Defining Traits
Positional Versatility
Trossard is comfortable as a left winger, a number ten or a false nine, which lets coaches change shape without changing personnel.
Clean Striking
He strikes the ball cleanly, including from range, finishing chances with technique rather than power.
Intelligent Movement
He finds space between the lines and makes subtle runs that lose markers inside the box.
Combination Play
Quick one-twos and lay-offs make him an excellent link player around the penalty area.
Strengths
- Can play across the front line and in attacking midfield
- Good finishing from inside and outside the box
- Clever movement and timing in the final third
- Combination play and creativity in tight spaces
- Proven at elite level: Premier League champion with Arsenal in 2025-26
Limitations
- Not a speed merchant or a one-v-one dribbler in the mould of a classic winger
- Physically light against powerful centre-backs when used as a central striker
