Reading Defensive Shape to Find Space gives the shadow striker a repeatable diagnostic — within 1–2 seconds — of *which* defensive structure is in front of him, *where* its weakest seam sits today, and *what* movement (drop, arrive, blind-side, channel) it invites. The Shadow Striker does not "find space" by intuition. Elite shadow strikers (Bergkamp, Müller, Firmino, Rooney, Kane in withdrawn games) read four variables in sequence:
