Disguised Overload

Updated October 6, 2026

Definition

A deliberate creation of a temporary numerical or spatial advantage that is concealed through movement and false cues. Players use decoy runs, delayed entries and subtle position swaps so opponents misread where the overload will develop, opening passing lanes or mismatches. Useful across flanks and central corridors to create high-quality chances.

Tactical Explanation

This attacking concept is used by teams to create advantages in the final third, unsettle defensive structures, and generate high-quality scoring opportunities through intelligent movement and positioning.
