Course 07 - Positioning and Triangles

Course 07 is the POSITIONAL FOUNDATION beneath every other Unit 05 course. Courses 01–06 teach what the playmaker does WITH the ball; Course 07 teaches what he does WITHOUT it — which is, statistically, 95–98% of the match. The playmaker touches the ball for 1.5–3 minutes total in a 90-minute match. The remaining 87–88 minutes are POSITIONING. The quality of that positioning determines whether teammates have passing options, whether the playmaker can receive when needed, whether the team can construct triangles in every phase, and whether the build-up has continuous structure rather than disconnected events. This course teaches positioning as a SYSTEM — the 5 distance ranges, the 4 triangle types, the 3 positioning roles, the 5-second repositioning cadence — that makes the playmaker the team's positional anchor.
